Description

Autumn fern, also commonly referred to as Japanese shield fern, produces reddish-orange fronds each spring that mature into deeper shades of green later in the Summer months. Perfect for shaded and moist areas of the garden, these ferns have a mounding growth habit and reach mature sizes of 1.5-2.5 ft. tall and wide. Ferns bring a whimsical, soft and feathery texture to shade gardens, offering refreshing contrast to areas that might ordinarily be dominated by hostas.
